Launched in 2004 as a fundraiser event for Alexandria's local skatepark, Sk8Fest is a popular local festival for all ages that celebrates the skateboarding culture and community.

Every August, for one whole day, the hockey rink at the Glengarry Sports Palace gets turned into one giant mobile skatepark, with ramps built by Alexandria's own Justin Sauve, Matthew Savard, and Chris Lefebvre.

Festival-goers don't have to skate to enjoy Sk8Fest. The event also features great live music spanning a plethora of genres, from pop-punk to death metal. Between the high-energy musical performances and the entertainment of watching the skaters defy gravity, Sk8Fest attendees are guaranteed to have an excellent time. This event gets bigger and better every year, so be sure not to miss it!
