Information from the Township of North Glengarry

  • March 23, 2020 - North Glengarry Council advises that :
    • No Interest will be charged for April or May on overdue accounts, for both municipal taxes and water;

    • No water services will be shut off for non-payment.

  • March 15, 2020 - Advisory on Township Recreation Facilities, Community Halls and Municipal Offices

On Friday, March 13th, the Township of North Glengarry advised that it had closed its recreation facilities and community halls to the public as per the directives received from the Eastern Ontario Health Unit in response to COVID-19. As of Monday, March 16th, the Township’s municipal offices will be staffed, though access to these premises will be closed to the public as a means of ensuring the health of our residents and personnel.

Residents are encouraged to conduct business with staff over the phone at 613-525-1110, by email at and obtain information online at whenever possible. In the event that business must be transacted in person, we ask that residents call ahead and schedule an appointment with the department/individual concerned.

During this period, the Township greatly encourages all residents to follow the Eastern Ontario Health Unit’s recommendations to reduce the spread of germs. The EOHU is taking calls from residents in Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, Prescott, Russell and the City of Cornwall about COVID-19  7 days a week from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Messages may be left at 613-933-1375 or 1-800-267-7120 or by email at (emails are monitored Monday to Friday during regular office hours - please provide a phone number where you can be reached during the day). Un avis a été émis le vendredi 13 mars par le canton de Glengarry nord concernant la fermeture de ses installations récréatives et des centres communautaires suites aux directives provenant du Bureau de la Santé de l’est de l’Ontario concernant le COVID-19. Nous désirons vous informer qu’à partir du lundi 16 mars, les employés aux bureaux municipaux du canton demeurent en fonction mais ces lieux seront fermés au public afin d’assurer le bien-être des résidents et du personnel.

Afin de réduire la propagation des germes le canton encourage grandement tous les résidents à suivre les directives du Bureau de santé de l’est de l’Ontario. Le BSEO prend les appels des résidents de Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, Prescott, Russell et la ville de Cornwall à propos du COVID-19 7 jours par semaine de 8 h à 20 h et les messages peuvent être laissés au 613-933-1375 ou 1-800-267-7120 ou envoyés par courriel à (les courriels sont lus du lundi au vendredi pendant les heures de bureau régulières.
