Opening its doors in 2002, the Island Park Community Centre is home to the Sandfield Centre, Gary Shepherd Hall and several community events, such as the Festival of Lights.
Island Park
Island Park's amenities include four soccer fields, two tennis courts, a concrete Skateboard Park, Basketball Court, beach volley ball area and fully equipped playground. There is also a Splash Pad, Gazebo and paved pathways lined with beautiful flower beds and trees. Throughout the summer and fall, the Skateboard Park is open from 8:00am to 9:00pm. This massive Park with its rails, stairs and jumps, was a recreation addition that was aimed at providing a safe place for area youth, and a fun place to perfect their skateboarding skills.

Sandfield Centre
The Sandfield Centre holds 99 people and is an ideal and beautiful location to hold your next event.
It is currently the location of all Regular Council Meetings.
Gary Shepherd Hall
The eastern wing of the Community Centre was renamed to the Gary Shepherd Hall in 2013, in memory of the long serving councillor. He represented the area from 1992 until he passed in April of 2013.
