Asset Management Strategy
The objective of asset management is to provide these services at defined levels in the most cost-effective and sustainable manner. Achieving this requires the development and implementation of sound asset management strategies and long-term financial planning. It is intended to guide the consistent use of asset management across the organization, to facilitate logical and evidence-based decision-making for the management of municipal infrastructure assets and to support the delivery of sustainable community services now and in the future.
This Asset Management Plan (AMP) evaluates three proposed LOS options and selects one by considering risks, costs, and achievability. It outlines the projected LOS over a ten-year period and the associated costs for delivery. The AMP also estimates the Township’s sustainable funding, the average annual funding required to achieve the proposed LOS, and the funding shortfall. Strategies to address the identified funding shortfalls are provided. The AMP advances the Township’s asset management program by assessing proposed LOS options and selecting one that balances risk, affordability, and achievability.

In 2018, the Township of North Glengarry adopted its Strategic Asset Management Policy. The purpose of this policy is to provide leadership in and commitment to the development and implementation of the Municipality’s asset management program.
