Road Work

The Township of North Glengarry will list upcoming road closures and construction projects which may impact travel on this webpage.

We also encourage you to sign up for Voyent Alert and follow our social channels for updates on road work and potential closures.

Sidewalk Replacement, Main Street North, Alexandria

Please be advised that sidewalk replacement along Main Street North in Alexandria will begin August 10, and proceed until completion.

Lane closures in the work area will be controlled by traffic control lights and will move along in phases.

Driveways will be accessible overnight unless arrangements are made prior. Thank you for your patience as these improvements are made.

The project will take place over three phases:

Phase 1: Shell station and work southerly up to Elgin St. (West side of Main Street only)

Phase 2: Elgin to Kenyon St. (East side of Main Street only)

Phase 3: Kenyon St from Main westerly. (East side of Main Street only)

Highway 417

Ongoing construction along Highway 417 may cause travel delays. Please check Ontario 511 for up to date road closures and lane restrictions for this project. These improvements, including the Scotch River Bridge Rehabilitation project, are part of Ontario's Highway Program and all work is completed by contractors hired by the province.
