Half Load Season Begins March 9

Half-load season will come into effect as of Monday, March 9. This applies to local municipal roads, as well as SDG Counties roads.

The weight of materials will be limited to five tonnes per axle on the weaker roads located throughout the region.

Roads that are subject to seasonal weight restrictions are identified with a sign. Half-loads restrictions will likely run into the early part of May depending on weather conditions this spring. These restrictions help to protect our roads during the spring thaw. Passenger vehicles and light pickups for personal use are not affected.

County Roads 34 and 43 are exempt from these weight restrictions.
