Spring clean up - important dates to remember

It's time for spring clean up in North Glengarry.

Annual Household Hazardous Waste Day will be in on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Residents are invited to bring their hazardous waste items to 265 Industrial Blvd in Alexandria between 8am and 1pm. Accepted items include:

• paints and solvents
• oils and filters
• empty oil or anti-freeze containers
• single use and rechargeable batteries
• propane cylinders
• fire extinguishers
• pesticides and fertilizers

Please note that syringes, unused/expired medication and business waste will not be accepted.

The Spring Leaf and Yard Waste Pick-up will be held on Monday May 5, 2025. Please put leaves in compostable paper bags or in open containers. Branches should be tied together in piles no more than four feet (4 ft.) long. Put your yard waste our on Sunday May 4. Pick up is the following day. Yard waste will not be picked up in small hamlets, on rural roads or County roads.

Pitch-in Week is scheduled from April 28 - May 12. Residents are invited to 'pitch-in' with community clean ups between April 28 and May 12. As of April 28, you can get your purple Pitch-In bags at the following locations:

• Glengarry Sports Palace and Maxville & District Sports Complex
• Township Office, 3720 County Rd 34, Alexandria
• Tim Hortons Dome
• Dunvegan Recreation Centre
• Dalkeith Library

Your purple pitch-in bag will be collected along with your regular garbage/recycling collection until May 12
