Household Hazardous Waste Depot Opens Friday

The Township of North Glengarry is pleased to announce the opening of the Waste Diversion Depot at 265 Industrial Boulevard in Alexandria.

The Depot will be open on Fridays beginning August 14, 2026, from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Residents will be able to bring various household hazardous waste items including paints and related products, automotive products, cleaning and household chemicals, batteries and electronics, lawn and garden chemicals as well as mercury containing items (fluorescent lights, thermometers and thermostats) and unused or expired medications.

“We are glad to be able to offer expanded waste services to our residents,” says Public Works Director, Timothy Wright. “By providing more opportunities for proper diversion of these materials we will improve access to disposal options for residents, and reduce the amount of waste going to our landfill.”
