Township of North Glengarry Announces Certified Candidates and Declarations to Office for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections
North Glengarry, Ontario – August 22, 2026 – The Municipality of North Glengarry advises residents that the nomination period for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Elections has closed and the Clerk has certified the following candidates in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.

Acclaimed Candidates
The Municipality notes that the following candidates have been acclaimed to office, having been the sole certified nominee for their respective positions:
- Michel Cuerrier, Councillor at Large
- Jeff Manley, Councillor Ward 2 (Kenyon)
- John Danaher, English Public School Board Trustee (UCDSB)
- Mathieu Tondreau, French Public School Board Trustee (CEPEO)
- Carole J. Larocque, French Separate School Board Trustee (CSDCEO)
Residents will vote to fill the offices of Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillor Ward 1 (Lochiel), Councillor Ward 3 (Alexandria), Councillor Ward 4 (Maxville), and English Separate School Board Trustee (CDSBEO).

The candidate list was certified by the Clerk on August 21, 2026, following the close of nominations at 2:00 p.m., and review of all nomination filings in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.
