Proposed Zoning Amendments

The Township of North Glengarry will make public all proposed zoning amendments. These are reviewed by the Chief Building Official, the Committee of Adjustment and Planning Committee, as well as being available for public comment. 

Any person may attend the public meeting and or make written or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment. If a person or public body that files an appeal of a decision of the Council of the Township of North Glengarry in respect of the proposed zoning by-law, does not make oral submission at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipality of the Township of North Glengarry before the proposed zoning by-law is adopted, the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal may dismiss all or part of the appeal.

Township of North Glengarry will hold a public meeting of planning to consider any proposed zoning amendments to the Township’s Comprehensive Zoning By-law under Section 34 of the Planning Act as amended.

The Committee of Adjustment has appointed November 24th 2025, at
5:30pm for the purpose of a public hearing, to be held in the Municipal Council Chambers located at 3720 County Road 34, Alexandria, ON, to review the following proposed amendments:

Proposed By-Laws

TAKE NOTICE that as of October 27, 2025, the Council of The Corporation of the Township of North Glengarry has passed a by-law to designate a property under Section 29 of the Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. O.18, as amended, as a property of cultural heritage value and interest in the Township of North Glengarry in the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry. Property descriptions are as follow:

In accordance with Section 29(8) of the Act, any person who objects to the By-law may appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal by forwarding to the Tribunal and the Clerk (at the Township of North Glengarry – Attention: Timothy Simpson, COA / Clerk, 3720 County Road 34, Alexandria ON K0C 1A0 or at cao@northglengarry.ca) within 30 days after the date of publication on the Township’s Website, a notice of appeal setting out the objection to the By-law and the reasons in support of the objection, accompanied by the fee charged by the Tribunal. A copy of the appeal form is available from the Ontario Land Tribunal website -https://olt.gov.on.ca/forms-submissions/. The last date to appeal this By-law is December 24, 2025.
